A new grant scheme from the Barcham Tree Foundation is offering community projects across mainland England, Scotland, and Wales the chance to build greener, healthier, and more sustainable spaces. The initiative supports local tree-planting projects to benefit the environment and surrounding community.
Who can apply and what’s included
The Barcham Tree Foundation’s initiative is open to schools, community groups, charities, and not-for-profit organizations. Up to 10 projects will be selected, with each receiving up to 50 trees ranging from 20 to 65 liters in size. The foundation will also work with successful applicants to ensure each project has the best trees for the site, providing expert advice and support during planning and planting. Groups will need to handle the planting themselves but will receive guidance from Barcham Trees.
Projects must have a clear positive impact on the environment and local community, and be sustainable in the long term. Groups must be able to receive the free trees onsite when they are delivered, organize the planting, secure landowner permission, and be willing to share their journey in case studies, photos, and social media updates.
How to apply and key deadlines
Applications are open until September 30, with successful projects announced on October 19. Trees will be delivered and planted by April 30, 2027.

Eligible projects include creating community orchards, enhancing school environments, and improving local green spaces. Groups must be able to receive the trees onsite when they arrive and have the resources ready to plant them without delay.
