This applies uniformly to all properties marketed as holiday accommodations, regardless of ownership type, whether held by individuals, joint owners, legal entities, or tenants.
The updated system broadens eligibility for operators while introducing stricter oversight. Previously, only specific entities qualified for licensing; now, anyone renting out a property must comply with these new requirements to guarantee transparency and safety standards. The DCT Abu Dhabi license confirms that accommodations meet health, safety, and quality benchmarks, thereby increasing traveler confidence in bookings.
This regulatory change follows Abu Dhabi’s rapid tourism sector growth in recent years. The emirate has already introduced similar updates in 2024 and 2025, reflecting a consistent effort to formalize short-term rental regulations.
