Therme Singapore is set to become Asia’s first massive urban wellness complex, scheduled to open in 2030 at a prime waterfront location in Marina South. The 7-storey development, which includes a basement level, will span 720,000 square feet of gross floor area—equivalent to more than nine football fields.
An Urban Oasis for the Whole City
The project broke ground recently, officiated by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu. Therme Group, the developer, envisions the site as a “social infrastructure” project. This means the goal is to make wellness an everyday, accessible, and joyful experience for everyone, rather than a luxury reserved for a privileged few.

Once operational, the urban resort is projected to welcome approximately 2 million visitors annually, with about half expected to be international tourists. The site is located on a 4-hectare waterfront parcel at Marina South Coastal, situated right next to Marina Barrage and the Gardens by the Bay. The location was deliberately chosen for its central position and connectivity via public transport.
Blending Nature and Technology
The building is designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. Therme Singapore will feature over 200,000 plants, representing more than 200 species including orchids, along with more than 250 trees and palms. Outside the building, the developer plans to build a sprawling 4-hectare coastal public park that connects the development directly to Marina Barrage. This addition will include another 350,000 tropical plants and 650 trees.
Inside, the complex is divided into several distinct zones. A family-focused recreation space will feature a signature indoor main pool, outdoor recreational pools, a dedicated children’s pool, and an indoor wave pool. It will also house 18 waterslides spanning a combined length of 1.8 kilometres.
There will be a peaceful tropical retreat dedicated to rest and rejuvenation. This area will feature indoor and outdoor relaxation pools, therapeutic mineral baths, hydrotherapy experiences, hydromassage beds, and infrared therapy. A third sanctuary will focus on thermal bathing, sauna rituals, and holistic healing. This zone will house steam rooms, cold plunge pools, wellness terraces, and over 70 treatment and massage rooms. It will also debut specialized wellness programming led by trained “Sauna Masters.”

Beyond the pools, guests can enjoy 86,000 square feet of food-and-beverage offerings paired with sweeping sea views. The experience will be highly digitised, utilising waterproof RFID wristbands for cashless payments and locker access, alongside a next-generation robotic locker system to maximise convenience.
